The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuums that mop hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end features (such as dirt detectors) are a plus.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots that vacuum and mop also have the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value particularly if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also features strong suction and an automatic vacuum cleaner bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job of cleaning robot mop and vacuum a mix of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky units of the competitors. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's a noisy unit that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit costly, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's going to cost you more and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dries mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd think from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot vacuum reviews mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app also provides access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It has an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, however it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
