WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade items their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using a button, which will show an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item upgrading slot and the current level of the item level upgrade, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item upgrader mod has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
