World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will gain 3percent of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the item to which it is applied (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment that require fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of an item will be available during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game, you will often find that the Best item upgrade way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level requires a different amount of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may be more expensive even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a different set of bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it could waste many resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item upgrader kit does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
