WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrader - my review here - NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The upgrade item discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require several methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

Crests

The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrader gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
