Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and need to be changed. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles are in line with the dimensions of the old handle.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle or lever is a modern-day door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement window handle doors. This kind of door handle is available in a wide range of styles & finishes. The handle can be placed and angled to suit all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles. This allows for the assurance of the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The lever that springs is adjustable to fit a broad range of locks. This is useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is further back in the sliding patio door handle replacement. Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently from lever-type handles found on most doors. These handles can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They are available in a range of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White Chrome and Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad designs are supplied with screws and a spindle, allowing them to be fitted on any new or existing uPVC aluminium door handle. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers come with springs, which can solve the problem of handles for doors that slide out of the horizontal position when not being used.

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with internal and external doors generally needing different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this depends on how your door and handle are utilized. For instance, exterior doors must be secured with an extra secure cylinder, while internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that increase security, for instance, anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn should there be one. If you are unable measure it with the lock in position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon might be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, therefore it is essential to make sure it's not too long.

Most newer cylinders have been constructed with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This can to deflect an attack and keep your door safe.

There are cylinders designed to withstand snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the lock's break line and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located in the base of the door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after usage. In the past, a lot of these types of handle didn't have a spring built into them, and without it they are more likely to slide or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is removed. The addition of this simple element is one of the best ways to correct this, and is an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, as these are not always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung but they won't work with multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will need to have a custom hole cut into the backplate to allow them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing damaged or missing cassettes inside the door handle backplate of various brands of uPVC doors. They have a square cut out which can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and they are supplied individually.
