Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was a return to a classic sextet structure, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. The more experimental sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. Bobby Kimball's growing proficiency was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex and less akin to previous recordings.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live performance that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between.
