WoW Upgrades - The Best item upgrader Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations offer item level upgrade upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if the items come from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut as well, but is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
