Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

An upgrade item is a special item upgrader that can make certain Pokemon evolve. The upgrade can be obtained by spinning a photo disc. It is sometimes offered as a prize during Pokemon GO events.

Most upgrade components can be replaced if they are inserted into an item, however doing so can destroy the previous upgrade. The only exceptions are glyphs which can only be used into gathering tools, and enchantments. Both are able to be removed and replaced.

Insignias and enchantments will display their names on the item's hover display, while upgrades that have a suffix or prefix will add their name to the end of the equipment name (e.g., a Radiant Insignia on Tyrian Armor would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components added to an item will be displayed in the item's tooltip.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be added into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements such as ligatures, ornaments, fractions, swashes, registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs Panel lets you insert and examine these special characters, along with regular symbols like em and en dashes, as well being registered trademark symbols.

Each Glyph provides an initial boost in stats for the character. The glyph could also be equipped with up to four secondary stats that will alter the radius of your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase which is multiplied by other bonuses, excluding Speed Glyphs that directly increase the hero’s speed.

Once a Glyph has been upgraded to its desired level You can activate it by selecting it, then pressing the "enchant" button. The Glyph you create will provide its stated bonus, and also boost all other nodes in its range on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should go where they can benefit your build the most.
