World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will gain 3% of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will be dropped in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it's possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

The use of the Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item level upgrade. When enough points have been earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can use up a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as the chance to crit attack damage, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
