UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors wear out with time and require to be replaced. It is important to be able to match the dimensions of the handles you have previously replaced when replacing upvc window handles them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle is a modern-day door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This style of handle is available in many designs and finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The door handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are ideal for doors with multi-point locks which require a robust design. The handles are inline and operate off the same spindle and screw fixings, so they can be easily incorporated into new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be adjusted and angled to suit any user. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, which allows for the assurance of the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The lever that springs is adjustable to fit a wide range of locks. This is especially useful for narrower door frames in which the cylinder is further back. A lever that is shorter can be used for doors with latches which can be operated with the thumb located on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are commonly found on doors. The handle can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically utilized on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a variety of finishes and variations.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in various finishes, including White and Silver, as well as Chrome & Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.

Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is vital. It is based on the type of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for instance are required to be fitted with cylinders with greater security and doors inside can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can increase security, for instance, anti drill or anti bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, when this isn't possible, you can take it off to measure. It is important to ensure that there is no cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The design of the latest cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to deflect an attack and protect your door.

Certain cylinders are constructed to resist snapping. This is an increasingly common type of attack on cylinders, which is where the break line of the lock is attacked by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. Spring Cassette

Adding this simple component is among the best methods to correct this, and is a great way to prevent your upvc doors from getting stuck in the open or closed position, since they aren't always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They are not compatible with handles that are not sprung and you'll have to cut a hole into the backplate to allow them to fit. (Please check the image for a more detailed diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to damaged or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature an elongated square that accommodates an 8mm spindle and they are supplied individually.
