If this sensor fails the ECU will throw a P00160 code which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync and possibly indicating the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper timing chain. However the code will not appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing can be a bit difficult as there are two different pins for the connector and they perform different functions but the best way to test it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read around 1000 ohms when the sensor is operating at its maximum. Check for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this part.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when accelerating from highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a massive reduction in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or, my injectors were not firing. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs. Three were drenched in gazoline, the fourth one was dry. When i crank the engine with no sparks i put tissue on the top of each hole in the injector, the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th one stays shut. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got 0ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, Audi Key Shell - Www.Scdmtj.Com - but it runs fine with the G28 plugged in. However the intermittent misfire issue continues to occur at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c even when i unplug it. I don't know what to do. I believe that I've all other possibilities out. But i'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any suggestions, please chime in! TIA!
