Albums

The discography of American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and a number of compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto the group, members worked as session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 as a result of the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics due to lacking hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned, and the band held auditions to choose a new frontman. The band picked guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by re-discovering demos and tapes from the past to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans, and the band embarked on a tour featuring former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings as well as an interview with the group.
