Which Lightweight Double Pushchair Should You Buy?

It's easy to move around with a lightweight double pushchair (check out this blog post via Werite), especially if you have kids with different age groups. They're typically simple to fold, steer, and transport up and down stairs.

Side-by-side lightweight double pushchairs aren't foolproof, though -If your children are the same age or stage, they might still argue over who gets to ride in which seat. If they're at different heights, then a tandem style may be ideal for them as it allows them to face eachother.

Tandem

While side-by-side models may be better suited for siblings with similar ages, tandem lightweight double pushchairs offer their own perks. Some can accommodate an extra car seat, while some have reversible seats. Others even have an additional carrycot or reclined seat that can be flipped in the middle. They are generally more spacious and easier to access and exit from however their baskets are typically smaller than the ones on single buggies. Many have larger canopies, peekaboo windows and even cushioned leg cushions.

Tandem lightweight double pushchairs will generally make more precise turns than side-by-side models, but they can be more challenging to drive over bumps and uneven surfaces. They are also slightly slower to pick up speed and may be heavier to move, which could result in strain on your back.

A convertible double buggy is an additional alternative. It is initially one however, you can add adapters to make it double. It could include an additional seat, a carrycot, or both in front.
